Member of Parliament (Milli Mejlis-National Assembly) of the Republic of Azerbaijan for three time (2001-2015)

He was founder and Chairman of Civic Unity Party of Azerbaijan (2001-2002)

He Chairman of Umid Party 2002 till present

He represenetive for presidential elections as a candidate for two time (2008 - 2013)

He graduated from Baku State University “Oriental Studies” faculty (1989-1994)

He graduated from National University of Kiev “Law” faculty (1992-1997)

He acquired the languages of Azerbaijani, Turkish, English, Persian, Arabic and Russian

He was professor of Baku State University in 1994-1999 and Asia University (1995-1999)

He was arrested in protest against the falsification of the presidential election in 2003 and accused of organizing mass protests, has been in prison for 17 months as a political prisoner.
